I am curious what brought this about.
are they afraid shipping will be disrupted by the conflicts or do they seriously think their products would be used in the conflicts
cannot understand why they would stop shipping to Europe

Use in war is quite unlikely to be honest. Customs trouble would be my guess. Italy, Luxembourg and UK have tightened blade restrictions, others might have as well.
Also, even without restrictions, some carriers are quite inept at managing the process....

Makes me curious why Italy has tightened blade restrictions. I can understand the UK since they are paranoid about blades for some reason.

Probably something to do with the resurgence in organized crime. As for the Museum Replicas thing, it doesn't even specify if armed conflicts are to blame or if it's conflicts with shipping companies or such.

They refuse entry even to blunt training blades now it seems.

All the sword laws/knife laws in Europe of late have been spawned by fears of terrorism, I've read.

I have just had the most expensive sword I ever bought (pre-owned Albion Ljubljana from Kult of Athena) do a quick U-turn from seller to UPS international processing and back to seller - with weird note:
"Returning to Sender
The receiver had no invoice information for this package and has refused the delivery. / The package will be returned to the sender."
UPS here contacted me on the phone to get my e-mail for faster customs processing and were surprised that the tracking for me shows it went back. They say the note doesn't make any sense, since it seems they haven't even tried to contact the seller. But they confirmed it went right back.
I hope I'm not the victim of a complete ban of sword imports to EU, or to my country - Slovenia. Haven't heard of any escalations of laws or control though here.

There seems to be no problem buying Windlass swords in Germany from German stores. Afaik no new anti-sword laws, definitely not in Germany.

I have seen here in a gun forum that this "ban" has many exceptions - including the whole of EU, so it shouldn't be the cause of these shipping problems?

UPS seems quite inept at managing the european bureaucratic system to be honest, I know a few people who had the same issues. No contact, extra fees etc.
It might not even be about import bans but more about things coming back because of missing papers.

I really hope it's just that, or the box damage (they often label it randomly). Because otherwise no Albion Ljubljana for me, ever... :-(
