I have an M. C. Lilley Fraternal sword that has a loose handle. The knight head at the end of the handgrip will twist some and the handle itself will actually turn if given enough force. What would a fix entail?

Is the sword peened or threaded? It appears peened to me. I tried to post some pics but it says the file is too large.

I tried uploading actual pics but it said the file was too large. Here are some images of swords like mine. Attachments:

Attachments/pictures must have max. 1MB file size. There are programs or apps that can reduce the file size of pictures.

I tried uploading actual pics but it said the file was too large. Here are some images of swords like mine. These are a bit small, but: From what I know these are ceremonial and peened. If peened, repair would probably entail undoing the peen. Or maybe, since it is ceremonial, super glue might be enough if there is enough of a gap to get it in. You can use syringe needles on super glue to get into tight spaces, though depending on value of the piece, I might advise against it. You also could try tigtening the peen with a hammer. If it is screwed on and the head is a nut or a cap over a nut you have to undo the nut and fill the gaps with glue, much easier and kless intrusive than if it is indeed peened.
Maybe give us a pic of the head from the top.

Super glue (CA) will do it. But if you go that route use one with very low viscosity CA glue. I would strongly suggest using Loctite 242 in a 6 ml tube. If you can’t find it locally Amazon has it. The reason I suggest the 242 is the tube has a nozzle of correct size, has extremely low viscosity, sets up in about 20 minutes, and most of all easy clean up. Regardless CA or 242, you will get some on the surface. The 242 is blue in colour making it visible when wet, a paper towel will easily and quickly clean the excess amount. Do not try to fix both parts at the same time. Put a few drops between the handle and guard and align. About ½ hour later put a few drops between the handle and pommel, align and allow to dry. It might be best to set the sword in a vertical position while drying. There are several ways to reduce the photo size. The easiest I’ve found is using MS Paint program if you are using Windows. It is part of the package, a freebee if you will. Come to think of it, an easier way is to set your camera to email mode, if you have the option.
