my perfect sword would be a dh 1045 no-hi, inch of tori sori,a 12 inch handle. the hamon would reach almost to where a bo-hi would go and be a rockwell of 55,one peg, battle wrap with black silk, and ether fake or real black same(fake if it brings the price down)iron fitings, silver menuki but since i dont have the means to make my own and the industry makes what they think is a good kat. it's just a dream for me

Yeah, 1045 at 55? Sounds mediocre to me. You could do a LOT better than that for very little more.
I won't harass you over tori sori (so sick of it, would love a koshi).
What type of hamon would you want, and why so wide? (shinogi btw)
I'd want a tamahagane naginata naoshi style wakizashi of 18-20" nagasa with suguha hamon, naginata-hi, and I'll get back to you on boshi and all the other goods later.
Since we're dreaming, that is...

well i wasnt thinking pie in the sky... but somthing that would be nice in a production sword and the hamon has to be somsort of hybrid. and sadly production kats is all i know

If I can have any blade I want, I'll take one of the old Viking blades, twisted and laminated... with gold and copper inlays on the silver 5 lobe pommel, with a celtic knot design (maybe ) on the cross... but if it's got to be modern made, I'll take a uno-kubi kat. about 30 inches, with a 3.5 inch okissaki... Ko-maru boshi, a toran, choji-midare hamon with tons of ni and ashi.... tamahagane of course... and while we're dreaming lets make it a Yoshimitsu, or a Yoshihara

You don't ask for much, do you, Marc? ![;)](//storage.forums.net/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) As long as we're dreaming... dream big!!! In reality I 'm very happy with my Raw... and would be supremely satisfied with a monosteel Barrett or ADC... an itch i plan to scratch next year...

I'm an email away from paying off my Raw, and as soon as I've recovered from that I'm thinking Barrett or Sorrells...maybe even checking out David Goldberg after ol' slav sent me this picture: ![](http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/7260/dsc03756mediumwg2.jpg) Doesn't get much better than that for me...

Yeah, that ones a beaut, I've seen it somewhere before... Goldberg is one of the better smiths with less reknown than he deserves... so is Michael Bell, Joe Walters... a bunch more...

If you are ever in NYC be sure to check out Mastersmiths, a store that sells swords and knives(not mall ninja crap either, the real deal). Alot of Mr Goldberg's work there.
