Hi everybody,
I don't think it has been mentioned on the forums (I did a search) but thought that this might interest some people. I've been following a channel on youtube called Bayt Al-Asad: House of the Lion. They also have a facebook page. It hasn't been around for very long but there is already some good stuff on there if you are interested in middle eastern arms and armour. I have spoken to the guys who run it online and they are really nice too. Here is the link for the channel: youtube.com/@baytal-asad
Thanks!
Dan

Oh that's very cool! I don't know much of anything about ME martial arts, but this seems like a very cool channel!

Sharp blades are good to have, if Shire-folk go walking, east, south, far away into dark and danger.

Very interesting! Hope they do a lot more with it. So much is known about the Crusades from the European side, it'd be interesting to hear how combat might have gone from the Eastern viewpoint. Still sticking people with sharp lengths of steel, but that saw toothed katar and the "rake glove" are definitely new to me and might have made things a bit more challenging.

I'm wondering if the sawtooth katar was actually more a defensive weapon, for sword catching? I mean obviously it can also hook mail.
