Sheath is typical windlass leather sheath.
No real distal taper until about 13cm/5" under the tip
Unfortunately on mine the blade twists and moves inside the grip about 2mm side-to-side, you can see the rubbing traced on the guard. Everything moves independently on this one, blade, guard and grip. The metal parts of the guard are well put together and don't move against each other. I think it's a combination of the pommel nut/peen not being tight enough and the wood grip not fitting well (I can turn it a few millimeters against everything).
The spike on the grip looks like it's a nut, but I can't move it anywhere with my vise grips.
It feels quite heavy and slow compared to other swords in this weight cathegory, though it feels like it hits with some force as well. The grip itself is leather with a twisted wire inlay. For me the deep grooves hamper holding onto the grip tightly and the grip isn't very wide, only 2cm/0,8". This leads to the big, heavy guard twisting the sword in my hand a bit (or at least trying to) when swinging it with some force.
Good:
I like the look
Sturdy blade
Bad:
Feels heavy
Not the best geometry for cutting (the dull edge is 2mm in places, much material needs to be ground off or the edge angle will be very steep)
I don't like the grip
Lemon-Factor:
Blade moves on mine
It would probably a good sword for looks alone, the neon sheath and grip, the crossbones and skull. If everything was tighter (which you probably could do with time and epoxy, if you could disassemble it) it would be a pretty tough sword, the blade is massively thick almost to the tip, though the end looks quite fragile.
Backyard cutting: No
HEMA: Maybe, if it is tight
Machete: Maybe
LRPING or wallhanging: Very Yes, definately a looker
