Hi there Its my 1st real post so please go easy eh fella's ? ;D Ive just picked my swords back up after a lay off of several months due to ill health - I scaled down my collection when the UK sword ban came into being in April - it was quickly amended to allow the purchase of hand forged katana so now I am looking to build my katana collection back up . I am hunting down a Oni forge Kiyomaru - but I am buying either a PPK elite or a PK XL lite this week for a remount project ive got in mind - Does anyone have a PK XL lite ? as I want to hear what the blade is like as far as thickness goes - I cant find any pics of the mune or kissaki anywhere on line . even if you dont have pics , I would love to hear from any PK XL/XL lite owners. thanks for reading ![:)](//storage.forums.net/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) M

I have to agree with Marc about this. A buddy of mine and I finished up a session of cutting today. Nothing serious, just PET bottles. He brought his PK Elite for some fun. He managed to top the cap on 2 bottles and chipped the edge quite deeply in two places on one of the attempted cuts. I was really not impressed with this. We didn't get any pictures but it was rather deep.

Oh Lordy - I knew your elite chipped a bit but that looks like you've been trying the old machine gun giri myth LOL I dont do that much cutting Marc but I at least like my swords to be functional weapons - and surely tissue and bone is more substantial than the top of a soda bottle . I fancied the PK XL lite because out of all the none folded performance blades its got the the thickest kassane ( s) motokasane 7.1 mm sakikasane 5.3 mm compared to the elite PK moto 6.4 mm saki 3.1mm I know that wont stop the edge chipping - but that was when my only worry was the blade bending on a scooped cut - now ive got to factor in an edge that chips when you look cross eyed at it ![???](//storage.forums.net/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) I think I better wait till a kiyomaru comes along M
