So I finally got one
A lot of it is shockingly modern: a short blowback double stacked semi auto pistol with a carbine mode in queen Victoria’s time. But you can tell it’s an early pistol from some design weirdness: field stripping this thing is a pain, the design jams quickly if dirty and the grip is abnormally thin at the top which combines with a high axis of recoil. It feels like a weapon from another world

Nice. Always had a soft spot for those but never got one. How does it group?

Very cool piece of history. I’ve never handled a real one, just a high powered airsoft replica. Not a fan of the ergonomics at all, but it’s a super cool piece of history.

Nice. Always had a soft spot for those but never got one. How does it group? Surprisingly good if I take the time to recenter my sights after each shot. Spamming makes it get knocked out of position quick though. It’s worsened by the back sight being tiny. I get the idea it’s more effective at medium range (50-200m) in carbine mode. The cartridge is pretty nice and basically the parent to tokarev so it’s aerodynamic and stable
