Sharp blades are good to have, if Shire-folk go walking, east, south, far away into dark and danger.

Saw a couple of these recently and found them very informative. Lots of interesting topics... crossbows, unusual medieval weapons, etc. Not your usual documentary stuff...actual people in armor using the weapons so you have a realistic idea of what it might have been like. In a word...brutal. Several full episodes on YouTube. Joe Bob says check it out.

Since it is an History Channel production I would take what they do and say with a grain of salt. I have seen some of their stuff (not this specifically) and it is not 100% accurate and sometimes a bit exaggerated for entertainment.

Here's a few. Judge for yourself. Yeah it's a bit too reality TV and overdone in places, but I think there's worthwhile info. Yes those watching their sodium intake may want to be cautious but without commercials it's 20 minutes long.

Heh, Mr Briggs is hilarious. No breasts, but plenty of medieval-fu.

didn't that show come out 10+ years ago? I remember some of their tests where they used an axe on butted-link re-enactment mail and claimed that the armor was worthless. It was a lot more "typical "reality" show" than it was history.
