So I just received the Renesiance side sword by Kingston arms and I like it kinda but it feels a bit clunky… I’m thinking about cutting off the two side rings on the hilt to ease up some of the weight, any tips, suggestions, or even opinions on the sword it’s self are highly appreciated, thanks in advance!

I have the Kingston Katzbalger because I like the look of the sword, but the weight seems way off in my opinion. On that model, the weight is all in the pommel and guard, so there's not much to modify unless you cut off the guard which is one of the signifying characteristics of a katzbalger.
So, with your sword, remember its not just the weight but the distribution of that weight that matters. If the weight feels heavy at the handle then maybe lopping off part of that guard will be OK, but if the weight seems heavy in the tip, then lopping off the guard will make that balance worse. I'm not an expert, hopefully others will chime in or clarify, but I think thats how that works.
Nice looking sword, good luck with whatever you do.

My KA Sidesword is very nimble and well balanced for cut and thrust. If you reduce weight in the guard it probably becomes a more tip heavy cutter. Try to handle a Windlass Munich Town Guard sword and you'll see what clunky can be.

Yeahhh, I was thinking it would just make it feel worse, thanks for the information!

I have the Kingston Sidesword and find it very quick in both thrust and cut. I grip it with my index finger over the crossguard. That gives me much better control of the blade, particularly in thrusts.
