As per title, I just got my Landsknecht Emporium Falke Kriegsmesser in. This is the first sword I went and splurged on to get something high end. It is awesome. I will add some pictures. I got it from KoA and it came in very well packed, no damage all nice and pristine. The fit and finish is excellent, it is possible that Landsknecht Emporium have stepped up their quality but I did not see any big scratches or errant tool marks on my example. Some people have complained about roughness of Landsknecht Emporium pieces in the past (and I was apprehensive at first to drop 1700$ with shipping and taxes just to get something rough), but I personally cannot complain about the quality of my messer. It does look handmade and historically appropriate but in a good way, the workmanship is not sloppy at all. The satin polish on the blade is very nice, no waviness at all, everything is flat and all the lines run nicely, the guard is solid, the shell nagel is nice and crisp (looks almost milled) the leatherwork on the grip is tidy and neat (no blotches or marks on the leather). The scabbard is really well made. The leatherwork is clean and the fit to the blade is very good no rattles. The byknives themselves are very cool too. I wish the scabbard was black like the grip but the oiled leather looks nice too. This sword is light and agile and the blade is scary sharp and stiff (by far the sharpest blade I own). I will do some cutting this weekend so I can't say much about how well it cuts on heavier targets but it does cut paper very well. All in all I'm glad I got this piece because I always loved the design of this messer and now I have it. On minor point of criticism: Skallagrim has also pointed out, the grip is oddly shaped. It feels too thin and too wide (great for indexing the blade) but not very comfortable bare hands. With gloves on I have no problem putting some power into the grip, but it might feel uncomfortable if I were to hit something hard holding it barehand. The price of this piece is high indeed, but the quality is there.
