Ming and Early Qing military sabers were elegant, unadorned side arms that can deliver devastating power even with a single hand.
Here we see the performance of two of these typical military sabers in the hands of Lancelot Chan.
The target is layers of soaked newspaper wrapped around a rigid PVC pipe. This target construction simulate a limb of a human.
Here Lancelot Chan first try target with the strength of a forearm and then the upper arm. The results give the tester and the viewer a new perspective in these sword type and answers the question why these designs were the dominant military saber type for 400 years from 16th to 19th century

Hi there! Is there any chance of making a replica of the Yongle Emperor's sword! There are so many reproductions already but none of them are very accurate to the original!
