Does anyone have experience with the LK Chen 1796 British Light Cavalry Saber (link below)? I own their Magnificent Chu Jian and it is one of my favorite swords - beautifully crafted and feels amazing in the hand. I’ve had my eye on the new Windlass 1796 that Matt Easton helped create, but I’ve heard that there are some quality control issues. I only discovered the LK Chen version while perusing the website—I don’t recall any announcement that this model was introduced. If anyone has insight on this sword, I’d love to hear it, thanks! lkchensword.com/shop-1/ols/products/british-1796-light-cavalry-saber

I don't think they're available yet. Tends to be a few months after a new model appears on his website before they're actually available for shipping. Only thing I've seen is his cutting vid with the 1796 and shamshir. (Both on my radar, BTW. )

Ah I see - thank you for pointing that out, that makes sense. I saw this cutting video, it looks promising. The handle doesn’t have a leather covering, but that might be simply because the sword he’s using is a prototype. I’ll keep an eye on this

I am very excited for the shamshir. LK is sending me one for review when they are finally in production, so I'll post first impressions here, likely before they become available to customers. So far, things are looking good. They've already implemented changes to make sure the product meets market expectations
