Today we revisit the Kingston Arms 13th Century Arming Sword. In our initial review we praised its build quality, handling, and affordability. But since that review has a critical failure changed our minds on this sword? We'll give you all the details in this follow up review of this Atrim design type XIV Arming Sword.

So, you guys got a bad exemplar...that stinks.
Looking at your old review, the issue is present in your closeup shots of the sword. That you didn't notice it when you reviewed is too bad, but would have been a good reason to exchange it for another back then.
To totally pan something you were exultant in your praise of seems a bit heavy handed. You went from over the top exuberance to "we can in no way recommend this sword" and burning it down over something you didn't catch that could have been rectified.
Seems to me it would have been a fairer review to say "hey, we found this issue after the fact and you need to be aware of it. If you order this sword, make sure this issue is not present on your sword. If it is, return/exchange it...if it isn't, enjoy a great sword. We missed it on ours and are out of luck, but you won't be".
Still, I'd likely touch base with Kingston or vendor (KoA) and see what they might do. You might find a replacement is exactly what you believed the sword to be originally.

You might find a replacement is exactly what you believed the sword to be. For us the point of this video was to make potential buyers aware of an issue to look out for. Some swords are gonna be completely fine, and that's great. Part of our new found apprehension is the fact that multiple models have had similar issues from this maker. On top of that we can only speak to our experience with specific swords we handle. With all that in mind we can't recommend this sword. But if it's still a buy for anyone that's completely fine. We just want to give information to help people make informed buying decisions. Thanks for watching!

At the risk of asking stupid questions: Does this model have a pommel nut? If you tighten the pommel nut, does the cross guard rattle go away?
Thanks for the heads up!
