Hello SBG! My name is Rob, I am the owner of RE:Wrap Studios rewrapstudio.com. I was originally hesitant to post anything until I had completed my first set of orders and had pictures to show. I was however, highly encouraged by my friends to post here so I wanted to get in ahead of time so anyone interested could bookmark the tab and await photos. My first customer is sending me three tsuka to be fully rewrapped hineri-maki style. One is purple silk ito, the other two will be standard black cotton ito. I expect to receive his shipment to my home Tuesday or Wednesday so there will be plenty of pictures by Thursday or Friday. I just received my M&V tag from Curt for this forum. Thank you all for your time and consideration, I look forward to helping some of you in the future!
All payments are handled through Paypal to ensure both the safety of the consumer as well as my own.
Current Services Offered:
- Standard Hineri-maki tsukamaki in either cotton, silk, or synthetic (I currently do not work with leather however I am practicing with it and will offer it in the future)
- Ito Lacquer. A great option to consider mainly for its reinforcing properties. Other advantages is that a good lacquer can bring more of the color out of an ito wrap and protect against moisture
- Tsuka Repairs as needed. All tsuka I receive are thoroughly inspected and upon any discovery of damage, I reach out to the customer to devise a game plan for repairs.
- All tsuka must be removed from the blade before shipping.
Future Services Coming Soon:
- Sharpening Services (for smaller blades, pocket knives, and axes)

First project complete! Lacquer is still drying at time of photo. The knots are solid, the folds are tight and I will only continue to improve! Photos and a video were sent to the customer and he is ecstatic. I hope you all enjoy as much as I do and I hope to help you sometime in the future! <3

Congratulations on completing your first job. Your customer is satisfied and that is the important thing. There is a need for someone with your talent, and as you said you will improve with time.

Thank you so much! I know that refining aesthetics will take time and I'm not rushing. So far I checked all the major boxes, tight fold, tight end knots, smooth ha and mune edges, I'm working on ways to make my diamonds look more crisp.

Thank you very much! I was very excited to send that back (he was surprised how tight the wrap was lol). I am aware that my aesthetics need to improve but nevertheless, as my first paid service I was quite proud. I hope to help the folks that need it, like you said the demand is high and here is to hoping that some folks here want to try me out.
PS UPDATE:
I now offer Katate-maki and Hira-maki as well as sharpening/polishing. I also have started doing Samegawa wraps (full and panel) as they have been requested of me so I decided to learn.

Greetings SBG,
It has been quite a while since I posted any updates on here. As with any new start up/learning a new skill, there were some setbacks (some projects did not work out, others were far more challenging than anticipated). However, after many months of hard work (and many, many, more to come) I would like to think I have improved my skills somewhat and wished to share an update on my progress. I know I have still have a very long way to go. One is in Uguisu (a type of green) silk ito in Hineri-Maki
Thank you in advance for browsing! <3
