Thanks odingaard. Actually I do fight in it. Mobility is quite good and will be better once I do some adjustments on the cuirass. I have to move the side and waist straps back a bit so I can cinch it tighter and Im going to cut a bit off the bottom and raise the fauld. Im also going to slim in the waist in as well so that it will rest more on my hips, that should take a lot of weight off my shoulders. My shoulders were a bit sore after the first couple practices but the weight isnt really that bad. 65-68 lbs of steel isn't that too far off the mark I dont think.

I've actually been admiring the overall look of your kit in the 'Kits and Harnesses' thread on myArmoury (as well as noticing the GBS). It's got me considering some of MTs stuff, which I might buy later in the month. 65-68lbs is good, but then again, it is whatever you are comfortable fighting in vs. what WMA you are using - ie, poleaxe, longsword, lance/spear, mace, etc. In a way, the details in your kit look similar to the LOTR films Gondorian armor, which I have always thought of as being awesome.
Right now, I am practicing with the SSG. I generally like to keep my gear in the 30-40lb mark. Light gambeson with lacing points (was a converted welding jacket, now will be an altered GDFB doublet), 3/4 legs (no greaves), full arms, klappvisor or pigface with full aventail, and a b&b with a 1/2 maille skirt. I have always found that full maille hauberks tend to bind in points, so I prefer the voiders or skirts over the whole thing - too much weight for my old soldier's bones. Of course, my WMA does not hit nearly as hard as SCA, even with rebated steel instead of boffers, but sacrificing for weight does have a downside. Alot more scuffs and bruises which may be counterproductive to my cause, but it offers nearly limitless speed and mobility.
Good luck with your kit, as I say it looks good. Be sure to post once you have it all completed!

Jak, great stuff!
The photo's you posted have inspired me to buy the breast plate and the arms from Merc Tailor as well. I had not heard of them before but their stuff looks pretty good. I got a nice work bonus and figured that would be a great way to spend some of it.
I have always wanted a suit of Plate but could never justify the 2,000$ plus dollars to buy one, but this way I can get all the pieces over time.
For the price, your suit looks great! I ordered mine about a week ago and Allan said he would be shipping in a few days. Can't wait to get it!
Question; Is that custom ingraving on your spaulders from Steel Mastery or did you order them that way? I didn't see any like that and they look very cool.
Anyone know a good place to find some plate boots? I haven't had much luck finding any.
