Totally agree Todd. Also, Lockwood’s came very sharp right out of the package. Hoping to do some test cutting asap. Another really nice aspect of this sword is the COP. It’s one of the few that is up there with my best Atrims and Albion’s in terms of placement and length. I swear it seems like the sweet spot is at least 4 inches long with none/almost no vibration. Only a few others I’ve had or handled were that generous and forgiving. And they cut extremely well.

Absolutely gorgeous! I don't think I've ever seen that particular sword outside of the review Skallagrim did some years ago. Just don't tell my BA Brescia Spadona I've been looking at other models!

Tbh that video was the spark and reason I ordered mine. Loved the color combo and his review made me want his or an Albion. I would have been thrilled with an Albion but ironically I chose lockwood thinking it would be a much shorter wait time. Man was I wrong! On the positive side, my feedback and others to Lockwood motivated him to change his website to be 12-18 months instead of 6-9 months. His work is great and he says he’s working on the customer service and communication parts.

I didnt realize until getting my Albion Brescia Spadona that it is quite a thin blade all the way through, and now understand why people call it more of a civilian sword than war sword. The Lockwood one appears a bit thicker/durable by comparison. Not that ill be abuse testing it either way lol .

After being brutally disappointed numerous times by the modern katana market I've decided to sell off most of my swords, and focus on nihonto. I also started looking at modern made european swords and I instantly fell in love with the type xviiib. I contacted Vladimir Cervenka (since I read good praise about him on Reddit) for a quote on price and time on a xviiib and asked if he could throw in a metal ring in the middle of the grip and a irish ring pommel...he replied back that he had a already made xviiib but without a irish ring pommel. He sent these pictures and I thought "well, the pommel isn't really to my liking, but the rest looks really good and it's already finished) so I bought it.

Andi goes Gallo-Roman! Deepeeka Tiberius and La Tene Sword. In South Bavaria - where I live - dwelled the Celtic tribe of the Vindelici, after which Augusta Vindelicorum/Augsburg was named. For those the La Tene sword. General Tiberius, later Roman Emperor Tiberius, conquered the area 15 BC without resistance, due to red wine and underfloor heating. For him the Tiberius Mainz gladius. Both are blunt and afaik not heat treated. For the La Tene sword this is even historical correct. Findings of Gladii of the Early Roman Empire showed 50/50 quenched and not. Just reanactment swords, but I had no halfway correct looking gladius yet and no Celtic sword.
