skelley , ggower Please try to write a review/comparison once you have had them for a while. I think I wouldn't be the only one interested in your impressions of both swords. More detailed stats would also be welcome. That is, if you enjoy this kind of thing. No pressure I've thought about it but I can be somewhat self-conscious IRL and online so that's a bit of a mental barrier for me. But hey, self-improvement and that crap right? Hey, you got great taste in swords, skelley! The Chev is just so light and springy. How are you liking your Prince? That one I've searched high and low but never found one in the wild. Congrats, bud. I like the Prince quite a bit. It feels similar to my VA Harwhich (type XIV) which packs a punch. If the Chev is a butterfly then the Prince is a bull by comparison. It also has the benefit of a narrower grip that feels better in my hand. those 2 are a beautiful set, any plans for scabbards? Probably not. It may be sacrilege to some but I've never minded not having one for my Albion's. Maybe somewhere in the future but that would be pretty far down the line.

I also had a long-awaited Albion turn up this week. Back in May 2021 I submitted an order for an Albion Chevalier and Vigil. The Chevalier showed up a bit before the Vigil but I was not disappointed in either. I noticed that both blades are notably sharper than some of my other ones so that was a nice surprise. I also had ordered a couple of scabbards from Tod's Workshop for both swords and as usual, they were delivered promptly (maybe 4-5 weeks) and as always, it was a very smooth experience with outstanding customer service. The Vigil was ordered with an oxblood grip and brown diamond overlay, and its scabbard was ordered in oxblood with a brown belt. Unfortunately, Tod's oxblood and Albion's oxblood are not a match, but it's still aesthetically enjoyable in my books. I topped it off with a sterling silver pommel marker with green/gold enameling from Brian Kunz at DBK. Here it's paired up with a Tod Cutler quillon dagger in red.

I'm glad to see these two paired up. I think they make a nice couple and I'm quite happy with both of these purchases from Albion/Tod's Workshop. I think Albion's green was a really close match with Tod's. Hard to pick a favorite here as they're both delightful.

Got a thing for the overwrap, eh? It does feel real good in the hand though, yeah? Such a satisfying tactile sensation!

5th century Spatha by Leonardo Daneluz 6150 buffalo fittings with axis grip. goat fur lined marupa wood scabbard adorned with garnets and black garnets with baldric. This is based on a Frankish grave find. The sword isn't for everybody as it goes against many modern ergonomic tastes with a 3.5 inch grip and 9.5 inch POB. However I love forward weighted blade heavy swords.

This is a fierce chopper, and paired with a big shield I am sure it would be a great battle weapon.
