Those gladii are stunning. The contrast with that rosewood and bone is incredible.

Bit late to the part, but where did you get this commissioned, and what was the damage, if i may ask?

Custom RyanSword Nagamaki What's the nagasa on this? Bit more naginata than nagamaki, but the blade is done pretty well.

Custom RyanSword Nagamaki with silver inlay fittings. Photos taken at different times with different backgrounds. The tsuba on your new blade looks amazing. Really well done! As someone else above said, it looks more like a full-fledged naginata to me, but I'm definitely not an expert. Call it what you like, I'd say. Looks good!

Here's a couple of automatics I picked up at the Atlanta Blade Show a while back. First two are my ProTec TR-3 in Magnacut. The next two are my wife's ProTec Sprint Custom Titanium.

Just arrived! Cold Steel Competition Cutting Sword (= modified Windlass Arbedo). A classic Oakeshott XVIIIc bastard sword. Much lighter than advertised, 1290 g instead of 1440 g (in Germany, KoA with 2 lb 14,5 oz is closer) - huzzah!. Unexpected good handling even single handed, PoB at 2"! The blade is flexible but not whippy, rather a cut than a thrust sword. Compared to my Windlass Erbach (new generation and overweight 1580 g instead of advertised 1500 g). Both starting with the same ca. 4+ mm stock but the CS has some distal taper, more profile taper, stronger hollow ground and is shorter, but starts broader. Me likes it! Barvarian holding Stormbringer!

That's a nice looking sword indeed. Congrats! If you don't mind me asking, how's the factory edge?

In principle a (well) sharpened Windlass. The first 3 - 4 " have a thin but blunt Windlass factory edge. Then it's sharpened with a small secondary bevel, very well done and very sharp. The hollow ground blade helps (reverse niku? ).

Got some new Tod Cutler items in today. -Mid Status Bollock Dagger -English Knights Rondel Dagger -14thC Quillon Dagger -Bone Handled Medieval Eating Knife -Simple Medieval Eating Knife -Medieval Brass Folding Knife I really wanted to get the Swiss/German basilard with a green sheath as well but they're all sold out now... The bollock is my favorite as far as style goes but the rondel is surprising in just how light it feels even with the shorter blade. The quillon dagger meanwhile had a tad more heft (but still light) than I initially expected from such a slim blade. Love the feel of both eating knives and the folding knife is just plain neat!

You equipping a whole adventuring party there, Skelley?! Good stuff. If I am, then it's just the cannon fodder to make the beasties look good. After all, you're the one with all kick-ass the hero weapons.

Windlass Death Dealer Sword. Couldn't resist a good price. Darn heavy, 1790 g, nearly 4 lb. PoB at 4,5 ", let's say it's maneuverable. Nice fantasy package. Next to my H/T EMSHS Barvarian choking the Fat Duck (a Feihou Ya Dao!)

I've been wanting a great sword of war for a while now and my wife graciously ordered me this one for an anniversary gift. It's a DSA Sword of the High King. Specs on mine:
Length 59 in. Blade length 44.25 in. A bit longer than spec. Weight 79.7 oz.
My wife requested that it be well sharpened and it is just that. Both edges have a slight, very even, secondary bevel that is paper cutting sharp. The sheath is quite nice and a very good fit. Great for transporting in the truck, but not really practical for carrying it on my person. My only complaint is that the guard has a wider gap at the blade than I would like. Other than that I am well pleased with my gift. In fact, I may well order another one down the road at some point. I haven't done much cutting with it yet but I learned one thing pretty quick; my recovery technique needs some work!
The last pic is shown with my two CS hand and a half swords for a size reference.
