Well it may not be a shiny high end baller blade like what's typical in this thread, but I'm pretty happy to have just scored this RustyBoi... an Argentine M1898 Artillery Hanger made in Solingen Germany. It has the same blade type as the M1869 Austrian sabres (also made in Solingen) with a fuller on one side, flat on the other. Now I have three blade lengths! This one comes in at a modest 26 inches, but it's got some heft to it:

perfectly executed very nice Coming from the SBG member with the most exquisite teste and biggest budget.. that means a lot... Thank you. Brian had a LOT to do with it. As I am sure you know, when you deal with a high end craftsman, you just flesh out the concept with them as they educate you as to what is possible and appropriate and then give them the artistic license to produce results like this. I did the same thing when getting my Howard Clark Katanas polished and mounted by Ted Tenold. I can not recommend Brian highly enough.

Yeah,... that's amazing! Glad to see they used real garnets. A very fine piece, congratulations!

Very cool handle, would love to see the original. It must be beautiful. Not a big fan of the blade though. It looks crude in comparison, especially the sharpening job. Maybe it's the pictures. Congrats on another nice sword. I'm becoming a fan of migration era weapons myself.

This one from Patrick Barta is my personal holy grail migration era sword. Unfortunately short of winning the lottery it's out of reach. But it's good to have dreams :).
