Hi friends, Holger performed a BIG Windlass raid; lots of models around 150 Euros from a eastern europe vendor. First is the fantasy classic "Blacksword", designed by Bruce Brookhart (some kind of celebrity in the sword world?)... Holger said he had four or five tryout buys with this sword until he got a straight one now! Second one is a Windlass "Tiberias" sword from "Kingdo Of Heaven" movie; pity this one has a quite Windlass-typical misaligned/angled grip... So this one is either going back or be sold through. He's a retired sword designer and had a hand in many a blade both for collectors and movies and TV. This blade was, depending on the year and my memory, a representation of either Anglachel of Tolkien mythos or Stormbringer of Michael Moorecock's Eternal Champion, Elric. Great find!

Yes, Holger just informed me on that Brookhart man; interesting. "Anglachel" does not compute; must check. For "Stormbringer" this is MUCH too small, dont you think?

I'm just vaguely recalling the write up in an old MRL catalog. It describes the sword as the cursed black blade of an elf, so Stormbringer is always what I thought of as I had not read Tolkien at that point.

TFW Sansibar #1. I have been looking at this one when it came into stock this week on the TFW website. As I still had some money left over from my last purchase so I said what the heck. Order was placed on the 5th and it was delivered with the morning mail today.

Turin renamed it "Gurthang" ("Iron of Death"). If that rings a bell. The out of alignment on the Tiberias doesn't look that bad to me. That's a pretty cool looking sword. Did the raid of the Windlass vendor include any other swords? Hope you enjoy the loot from your raid!

Blade looks very good, but it should be a little thinner from the end of the fuller. Its called "Windlass XIIa Warsword" on the vendors site.

Cool looking sword, despite the slight misalignment of the cross.

Hi Dandelion. If you and Holg decide the out of alignment on your Tiberias Sword is too much of a flaw to keep it, there is a user here looking for one. You can see their thread here: sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/64267/rings-hobbit-kingdom-heaven-swordsHope you have a great day!

New APOC katana and broadsword, and an EDC Bat'leth (letter opener). The Atrim design kat has significant distal taper 6 (guard) - 5 (middle) - 3 (2" before tip) mm. Weight is 1140 g but it feels much lighter than the broadsword with 950 g, just a bit hilt heavy. POB kat right at the guard, broadsword 4" above the guard. The name "broadsword" isn't totally wrong, it feels like a bigger sword without being clumsy. The kat handles similar to the KA XIV, very nimble. The broadsword has more authority in the blade. Klingon 3 finger grip!

How's the grip on this one? And what's the overall weight?

Klingon 3 finger grip! It appears you and I have similar taste in blades. I just got the APOC Kat and KA XIV about a month ago. Loving both of them. The APOC broadsword is on my list. If you feel like doing a review on either APOC they're seriously lacking. I'd do one for the Kat, but I'm an apartment dweller so there's very little likelihood of any cutting lol.

Yep, that's wider than mine. Damn, now I might have to get the Sansibar 1.

Dandelion I figured out why I thought of The Eternal Champion. The Frank Frazetta cover for Moorecock's The Silver Warriors has a very similar blade. The true black sword!
