Had this for a little over a week before getting a chance to test it out and photograph it. Valiant Armoury Hardwick. Love this blade. Cuts extremely well and handles beautifully.

at that price point if it does not hinder performance it is not really out of the ordinary for it to not be that good but it is pretty random, if it bothers u then it will continue to bother u and u should return it for a replacement and hope for a better tip or a refund

Thanks, stormmaster. I have very little experience and really just wanted to make sure this wasn't an "omg return it" kind of situation. I doubt it's going to bother me enough to ask for a replacement. There wouldn't be much of a market for Albions if $200 got you perfect. (But I'll probably go for the RKs & Hanweis on my wishlist next...) We have those issues on 700 Euro swords from european makers; we have those issues on several Valiant Armoury swords and on Dynasty Forge swords. And uneven fullers, blades which unevenly sharpened etc. Issues like that wont disappear until you reach the 1000 Euro level. Sometimes you get somthing flawless in the lower ranges, but its a lucky shot then.

I loved watching Petr build that sword, awesome acquisition man! The Thegn is probably my favorite production sword.

Thanks Dandelion! My first sword (RK Euro 7) was so very nice I thought this BA blade might be rare, but good to hear stories from the more experienced. No problem; and dont get worried on the budget swords. We spam this thread with ANYTHING we acquire... ...IF it fits the rules. I have been told by my man this used to be a forum ESPECIALLY for budget buyers in the erlier days.

Just came in the mail today, courtesy of Eric Bergeron.
GGK Scimitar I love the hand-forged look of this sword, and it immediately becomes the sharpest sword in my collection. I also love that the false edge is sharpened near the tip.

Alientude, that VA is beautiful. I love that blue. Yeah, when I saw it pop up on KoA, the blue scabbard and rich brown belt, I fell in love immediately.
