I ended up selling this to Lionhardt -- I really do think that he'll be happy with it!
Decided to remove this, I can't handle the stress right now. This is why I never sell anything, and always just give things that I don't need anymore away to friends. Thanks all for the interest, and I'm sorry if anything came across as deceptive. Between the multitude of pictures and updates and descriptions, I don't see how it could, but now the accusations exist and the internet is always "guilty until proven innocent -- then still guilty anyway". I thought I'd be able to clean it up better, and as soon as I realized that I couldn't I posted extremely well lit pictures of the *light* surface problems, which I am sure could be cleaned up by somebody more experienced than myself. Either way I love the sword, and I'm happy to keep it.
I'm making this available again, although it's a tough decision. I really love it but I'm in a bit of a pinch right now. It's my mom's favorite of my collection, every time she visits she comments on it haha. It's also the only sword I have with a bronze pommel and crossguard. It's probably the most decorative sword that Albion makes in this price range, and it's gorgeous!
MSRP is $1085, plus $65 shipping (that's what Albion charges for swords), (so $1150) plus the current wait time is 18 months. Spoke with Mike at Albion 3/16/23 and they are "finishing up orders from August 2021" right now, so it's actually getting closer to 19 months.
I'm hoping to get $1000 shipped to CONUS. I would consider reasonable offers, but we all know that Albions are worth MSRP or more due to the (usual) 12 to (current) 18 month wait.
I'm the second owner (I think), so far as I know it's never been cut with. Looks in excellent shape to me. The swirls/imperfections seen are due to Renaissance Wax, I keep a very thick coat on all of my swords to prevent any aging/rust/discoloration/patina.
For payment I'll take Zelle or Paypal Friends and Family, unless you want to use Goods/Services and add 3%. Thanks!
UPDATE: I had somebody message me about the "crooked pommel".. the pommel is *definitely not* crooked, perhaps he was talking about the cross engraving. I think most of the pictures were taken at an angle (which can be seen by the shadows), I really don't think the engraving is crooked either. If it is, it is so incredibly minor that I've never noticed it in person and I'm OCD haha.
ANOTHER UPDATE: So he was talking about the engraved cross, and I took several more pictures which I will add. I took a level to try to use as a straight edge to highlight it. I think that it's just made this way, the crosses are not perfectly symmetrical or straight. They're not off by much, but I feel like they made it that way on purpose. They were going for a hand engraved look, like with the lettering. Even the one on their website is like that, although it looks like theirs is skewed more horizontally (you can see it go down on the left side) where mine is skewed more vertically. Either way, it is extremely minor and I never even noticed it before. I honestly just think that's how they make it to add character, especially because the one on their website is also not perfect.
But again, it looks WAY worse in those first pictures that I took because I was taking them from below and to the left, which can be seen by the shadows.
ANOTHER UPDATE: I went ahead and stripped the wax off and polished it with CLP BreakFree, so that the wax isn't hiding anything. There are some minor marks on the blade from where it had patina at one point, which has been completely cleaned off/neutralized. They're primarily on the "back" (the side without the Albion logo), but both sides have them. I imagine that they would buff out with some work, it doesn't appear to be pitting or anything like that. As such, I've decided to make a price drop to $1000 shipped. This is the lowest that I will go, if it doesn't sell for that I'm going to keep it. I've attached 4 more pictures with the wax removed and the sword freshly polished and directly under a "daylight" light bulb, which will highlight any blemishes far more than they would be seen under normal circumstances. Thanks!
