Thank you. Are there any conventions in New England? I’m in New York.

Thank you. Are there any conventions in New England? I’m in New York. Not planned at this time. You can ask Kult of Athena if they will be recieving either sword soon though. Sometimes they can give advance notice of inventory soon to be in stock.

I think both swords have a wait going a year or more. Unless they get issued inventory from time to time. I’m not sure how that works.

If you email customer support at Kult of Athena you can inquire about these two specific swords and ask if they know the next time one would possibly be in stock. They will then inform you if they will have it in the foreseeable time. Just in case you get lucky and they manage to have it in the next few months.

I’ll definitely contact KOA and find out. I’ve been wanting them for over five years.

I’ll definitely contact KOA and find out. I’ve been wanting them for over five years. If you made this post like three weeks ago I could have grabbed you the Albion Ljubljana that was at SoCal Sword fight when I was there. It was even more beautiful in person. I usually prefer cut oriented swords but I was tempted to get it myself anyways because it looked so good, but more than looking good it also handles like an absolute dream. So that is a great choice. The discerner on the other hand is very cool for its reference to the movie and King Arthur, however the reviews I have heard about it and peoples mentioning on the handling, its got a bit of mixed feedback in that regard. Still an Albion so will feel good in the hand to dry handle, though not quite to the same level of as some the ones based strictly on historical reproductions. And the movie reproduction swords are not meant to be compared to the historical ones anyways, the Conan swords for example are far too heavy to be used for training purposes. But people don't buy them for that purpose. edit* Actually you could ask Mike from Albion on facebook if the Albion Ljubljana they had at the event ended up getting sold or not. And if not there might be chance someone on the forums could pick it up for you, if Mike brings it to Las Vegas for Combat Con this summer. Not sure if I will be able to attend myself yet.

I spoke to another member on the forum that mentioned they could grab the sword for me this summer if it’s still available. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thats very generous that members of this forum are willing to pick up and ship swords for other members. A great group of people here. Thank you! I’ll check out some reviews on the discerner but I already ordered it on KOA. It’s balance isn’t too far forward and I don’t think it’s too heavy either. I wonder if it’s just the ergonomics of the handle?

I wonder if it’s just the ergonomics of the handle? Indeed, I never handled it myself so I am not sure. It is a bit heavy for its relative size due to the much thicker than usual crossguard and pommel but it's still light enough to feel well balance enough while handled, being that its still under 4 pounds and as you mentioned the POB isnt too far out.

I should have a brand new Discerner in my shop within 2-3 weeks, straight from Albion. I can give some impressions of it then, as it has been many years since I last held one.
