Specifications
Length - 91.5 cm
Blade length - 76.2 cm
Weight - 1105 g
Steel - 5160 HC
The sword, made by Hanwei, is a replica of an archaeological find of an 11th-12th century sword found in the English river of Cawood. It is a faithful replica, not only in appearance, but also in dimensions and details.
I bought this sword a few years ago as a decorative piece with some historical value. I am in the process of liquidating my collection, as I currently need the money elsewhere. The sword had been hanging from one wall or another since the day I bought it, so it is still in very great condition. I did not use it for cutting or any real activity, apart from of course swinging it around the room here and there.
The sword is superbly balanced and, from my admittedly limited personal experience, on the higher end of quality for a typical Hanwei product. I would say this is comparable in quality and most definitely in hand-feel to their Tinker line of weapons, although the Cawood is much more comfortable to wield than the Tinker Viking, which I used to own.
There are only two notable faults with the sword - a small superficial 'discoloration' on one side of the blade which is how it came to me originally, presumably a factory mishap. It is only really noticeable in certain angles under the right light and has no impact on the sword's performance whatsoever. The second fault is the slight scratchiness on the scabbard's leather wrap, which is visible on the pictures below. This is simply unavoidable when it comes to leather, unless you leave it completely untouched.
My asking price is therefore - 250€ (final).
Unfortunately, I am only able to ship to European addresses with GLS, as I am located in Slovenia. Shipping costs might differ slightly based on country but generally they are between 30-40€. If you are interested in purchasing, let me know and I will check the shipping cost to your address.
