Hello, I need advice in assessing whether this French Cuirassier broadsword is original? Thanks in advance for all hints. Regards Toros

Looks good, a lot of positive things going on this sword, I’d buy it if the price is right (don’t ask me what that should be ). Scabbard is the later type that became official in 1816, but the sword has the original hatchet tip, most have been modified to a spear tip so thats a big plus in my book. Also the signature on the spine looks to read that it was made in the Royal Klingenthal factory 1814, which means that it was made in the 100 days era between the first abdication of Napoleon and his return.

Thank you very much for the advice, I will try to buy.
I was wondering whether to choose a saber, which I also asked about, or this broadsword, but rather I will choose a broadsword.
Best regards Kamil

Good luck. I hope you will publish the sword here on the forum in the future.
Cheers.
