let me start by saying i think its worth shooting your shot with huaweis katanas now (at least their in stock katanas). i dont know the specifics of why they seem to take so long with some orders but i didnt have any issues getting these two. after ordering in a month and a couple weeks i recieved a shipping notification on christmas and they arived soon after new years. maybe im just lucky i dont know, but its worth a try putting in a order now. if im correct they have a new workshop and production times are faster now it seems.
that being said heres the swords i recieved...

first off both swords are astounding. i like the navy ito one more becasue its slightly lighter and the wineblack sword is too tight in the saya. specifically right before the habaki enters the koiguchi so the saya seems to grip the kissaki too tight, so its not great the do batto and noto with.
that is the ONLY negative about either of these swords. thats what amazed me the most is how much huawei did right with these katanas. they are very consistent in their construction they really are like twins. so since they are practically the same sword i will be speaking as if they are both one sword instead of hopping back and forth.
koshirae: 10/10
starting with the koshirae the ito is rock tight and the diamonds are a consistent size. the tsuka shape of BOTH are like i said, the exact same shape and have a very comfortable waisted shape. the fuchi and kashira are well cast and transition perfectly with the ito. menuki are well cast polished copper, also the ito over the menuki is same tightness. iron mokko tsuba is simple but executed great. seppa and habaki are copper with a pretty polish on them. the habaki is the so well fit to the blade in a way i havent seen on any of my other swords, no gaps between it and the blade and fits perfectly in koiguchi.
the quality of the koshirae cannot be understated, it makes both swords a joy to practice with.
blades:10/10
now for the blades. both shinogi zukuri dotanuki. i havent cut with them yet, but i have no doubts theyre tough bastards. i did touch up their edges with a diamond sharpener. theyre both well balanced, the navy ito one feels better to me because the balance is more towards the tsuba because of its less wide sakihaba(the part of the blade near the kissaki). the wineblack sword has a big presence the sakihaba is much wider making the balance more towards the tip but it isnt cumbersome. they both have a beautiful polish, there are no ripples in the surface of the blade and the lines are sharp. they both have a fiery looking chiji hamon, very cool.
9/10
finally the sayas are both good, the wineblack saya not as good as the other for reasons stated at the beginning but its not too bad. the blades draw and sheath quietly and smoothly, like on rails. the laquer is phenomenal on both and the koiguchi is also top notch for both. they both came with high quality silk sageo
all in all these 2 are my best swords that i own currently (likely to become second best when i recieve my motohara katanas... keep a lookout for my review on those) im glad i took a chance when i ordered them. the comunication was okay they dont always respond but if you are respectful and patient then you might just get something worth the time and certainly worth the money.
