No I’m not crazy they like Tokarevs: probably because the T54 as Chinese surplus is easier to get and has a lot of nice properties like a powerful armor piercing cartridge and a flat and accurate trajectory. This is a modernized Yugo Tokarev but close enough.
As for the sword? Also very gangster: it’s a short katana at 62cm and very light and clearly made for one handed use. Short katana/long waki have long been associated with gangsters in Japan. This one is by the famed Hinin Kiyomitsu and has nice fittings. I dare say a capo (or whatever the yakuza equivalent is) would be happy to own this kit.
