It was a great series...and I understand the books are excellent but I have not had the time to read them yet.

I highly recommend the books, I haven't read them all just yet but I have gotten through 2 of them and they are amazing, I also loved the tv series and was sad to see it come to an end, but I think they ended the tv series in a great way.

can't wait for the movie.
i remember seeing something about early to mid 2023 so that would indeed make me happy.
i still go back and forth whether i want try finding Uhtred's Serpent Breath clone from hsbladesent or if the dull version would be fine.
was totally a buzzkill when Alexander was showing it off and it couldn't open any packages.
will need to get around to books one of these days. they really did some of the characters dirty it appears

I got season 5 for Xmas and gonna watch it the next days I've read all the books and even the official final one which is probably the story for the movie. Spoiler: Uhtred was still alive at the end of the books. Now I have to sharpen my Serpent's Breath!

IMHO, it's time somebody produced a satiric sitcom portraying the adventures of Retred of Bubbaburg, and ridicule the entire Viking-era genre.

They list themselves as being in New York but they are either in China or Pakistan but I'm pretty sure it's China. I did a post about them here and have come across a lot of negative reviews on them. Unfortunately no one makes a good copy not even Jalicblades who is the licensed copy maker. The fuller is way too narrow, the blade is SS and the blade and guard is polished instead of blackened. The leather on the grip is light brown instead of dark brown. The only thing that almost makes you think it's Uhtreds sword is the amber pommel. Take a good look at the one in the series and you will see no one is making one even close to it. That's why I started to make my own.

Not a sitcom, but there is a so so Monty Python like movie called Erik The Viking (1989).

Well lets hope the movie keeps him alive too. Although I hear the book killed off Eadith after she made the mistake of marrying the kiss of death Uhtred. That thing about killing off your number one guy has proven to be a dumb idea, ask Russel Crow about Maximus. He wanted to do a sequel but Maximus Decimus Meridius is dead Russel. I hear that they are going to make a sequel but needless to say Russel won't be playing Maximus, maybe his grandfather.

Would need some time to get his form back. In the meantime he could play emperor Crassus Jabbius Huttus.

yeah, I'd have to be at the point that I'm willing to just toss away cash as a gamble and hope for the best as I figured they were out of China though I had heard India.
I could pick up a Jalicblades version but I know I just wouldn't be happy with it.

I do need to pick up the series and finish it at some point, both the books and show. I read the first book and maybe half of the second one years ago. I don't care for 1st person narration though so it takes me longer to get through it.

They claim it's full tang battle ready for $77, I don't think so. They also claim to be located in New York and said their swords are made in the US. Lies after lies after lies. But if you get one from them let us know how you make out.

there was someone on reddit who said they were going to buy one but never ever chimed back if they did.
the smart play would be to buy the cheapest one that might be full tang, see if that ever comes and go from there on round 2

Eliza is the same age as Millie. Would hump either.
Ruby is only 5yrs younger which I find pretty amazing since I thought she could still be a teen.

Have a bit of love/hate relationship with the show, on the original Netflix description I thought it was a King Arthur adaptation, but I was way off lol. I then I learned it was based on a real dude, but then it turned it almost has nothing to do with him lol. First season kinda turned me off since it kinda just seemed a budget Vikings, but the almost Tom/Jerry relationship between Utred and King Alfred kept me coming back. By the later seasons I had grown attached to the antics of the side characters lol. King Alfred's final monologue toward Uhtred is still one of my favorite speeches in TV

It's understandable why they did it but one problem of the series is their wish to keep most of the main cast over 5 seasons and 5-6 decades in years. So they made more changes to the novels esp. in the last two seasons. And as always the replaced an excellent author's stories with TV series standard pulp fiction. The last season covers 3 or 4 books. The relation between Uhtred and Alfred was unique and interesting because Alfred was cleverer than Uhtred. The opposite with Edward and his standard evil counselor which I found boring. I missed Uhtred's other son with his Ulfberht sword.

But then again you could say Bernard Cornwell screwed it all up too. The real Uhtred didn't even live in King Alfred's times. He was Ealdorman of Northumbria from 1006 - 1016 and Alfred lived from 848 to 899. So unless Uhtred was well over one hundred years old when he became Ealdorman he never even met Alfred. Cornwell took liberties with history and the series took liberties with the novels, both are fiction. Bernard Cornwell said he liked what they did with the series and even did a cameo in one episode where Uhtred kills him. Every time a story is told it will be told differently.
