Sharp blades are good to have, if Shire-folk go walking, east, south, far away into dark and danger.

Just funny how once you get into this group your perceptions of swords changes so dramatically. I remember being young and stupid working at WDW and in the castle they had the usual display swords... probably Marto, but they looked neat. Never got one thankfully. But then yesterday a co worker was at an auction and sent me a pic of these swords and asked "You want me to bid on them for you?" and one look at the bling and plaques and I said "Nope. Those are Marto wallhanger specials, cheap stainless." Later he sent close ups confirming my statement. Just thankful for the SBG site and the knowledge and friendly people there.

Ngl, that last one does look aesthetically appealing to me.

Yea same here. My first swords were this cheapo stainless "highlander" three piece Katana set. I've come a long way thanks to this website. It's pretty much the only website I go on these days, this and YouTube

Ngl, that last one does look aesthetically appealing to me. My first sword was probably a Marto, maybe a cheapo version of the El Cid. Total p.o.s. but I was 18 or so. It was cool at the time. Even the last one was missing one of the green "jewels". They want like $700 for most of these. I just don't get it. Attachments:

You look back at yourself and think "how can I have been so silly" but we all start somewhere.

When phones still hung on the wall and computers were but a dream! Not a lot of online research to do to educate yourself.
