Hi Everyone, New member here. I recently inherited a few, what I assume, are Japanese swords a couple of which appear to be autographed on the tang. There's also a Calvary type of sword and a couple of smaller Katana's. Right now I'm just trying to identify these blades. I have every reason to believe that they're mostly genuine articles as the man who left them to me was a knowledgeable collector. I'm going to try to put up as many pictures here as the forum will allow. If anyone sees something that needs more pictures, please let me know, and I'll take the pictures and upload them here to this thread. Very Sincere thank you to the group for any information regarding these pieces.

Welcome to the forum. On the surface that looks like quite a collection. I strongly suggest slowing down and:
Work on one or two swords at a time.
Use better resolution
Give dimensions
State any unusual details

The pics are really low res but I think the signature is 豊後住藤原国行 - Bungo jū Fujiwara Kuniyuki You can see reference signature here: tokka.biz/sword/kuniyuki2.htmlThe shirasaya with text seems to attribute it to 備前三郎国宗 - Bizen Saburō Kunimune, I would be very skeptical about this.

Hi Everyone, and thanks for the input. I will get one out tomorrow and take some good photos. I had to knock down the resolution to post them with the 1mb cap on pics. I will get you some better photos of the autographs for sure. That's pretty amazing that you were able to link up that signature. That tang in the link you sent, looks a lot like the one I have here. The man that left them to me was 83 when he passed. I've been working on this estate for months now and haven't found one collectable that hasn't checked out as authentic yet. I think it's really good advice to take it slower. I'll have more pics up tomorrow. Thanks again!

Is that a good thing? I'm not sure which sword your pointing at. I literally know nothing about these. Thanks.

Can't help with the specific items, but you might have better luck uploading your photos into an album on a third-party image host, like imgur or photobucket, etc, and linking them back here. Our forum's 1MB attachment limit is very limiting, indeed, especially as most cameras (smartphone cameras, especially) these days are going for such high resolutions, creating huge photos and matching file sizes, with few to no options for down-scaling without massive loss to clarity...
Your latest batch of photos is much better than the first, at least.

Those are much better.
Others are more knowledgeable in the specifics than I am, but it looks to me like you have some authentic Japanese swords, albeit in rough shape.
Someone smarter than me will fill in more.

Sword #1: Showato; mei reads 濃州住福本兼宗作 - Noshu ju Fukumoto Kanemune saku.
Sword #2: Quite possibly gimei(false signature) of bladesmith Gorozaemon Kiyomitsu. Mei SHOULD read 備前国住長船五郎左衛門尉清光 - Bizen no Kuni-jū Osafune Gorōzaemon no Jō Kiyomitsu.
Sword #3: OFFICER’S KYU GUNTO PARADE SWORD.
