The pommel notches cried to be filled with something decorative. I bought a pack of relative cheap coins from Amazon, made of "metal" and silver plated. I ordered the Viking coins but there are other sets for example gilded Roman coins. Some of them had Christian symbols which in my opinion match the sword. The original Munich in the Bavarian Nationalmuseum has a St. Mary with Child emblem, but I didn't found matching coins. Here some pictures: I'd didn't use glue or epoxy, just two sticky sided adhesive tape for easy removal. I'll look if other swords of mine need a similar decorations.

Interesting find.
I used a combination of twisted fine silver wire, moonstones, and epoxy impregnated with Stuart Semple's Blue Lit glow-in-the-dark powder. The Albion Munich's pommel definitely calls out for decoration.

I go to Hobby Lobby and Michaels and a hobby store in the area, JoAnn's fabrics and pick up the necklace pendants that are made to hang on a chain and I have found at least three different circular designs that fit perfectly in the reset in many of the round pommel centers. I also find crosses, Celtic designs to tastefully decorate the top of a sort of plain scabbard. I'm not a real stickler on a sword being as close to an original as I am about the overall look and the proportions. I have added a circle with a tree or vine design on the pommels of my Darksword Squire and the Balaur Type XIV arming sword along with matching decorations on the top of the scabbard-- I've gotten a little carried away and now have many different metal designs and currently trying to decide what will look best on the sculpted metal band around the top of the Arbedo scabbard-- I know photos would help, just haven't taken them yet but I'll post some of these because it's amazing the overall change in the look of even a handsome sword and scabbard.--

I found these at DBK if anyone is looking for something a little more elaborate. I'll be ordering a set or two soon. Will post pics if anyone is interested.
