*Posters note*
"Hey everyone, small warning to save you a lot of waffling on my part. I tend to ramble on subjects I like and this is on topic but I go into detail from a fan perspective. So if you want to get to my main point I would skip any thing marked Green as it just talks about my history of why I'm asking this question now. I have been wondering this for years, the Green text is just explaining why I decided to find out now. 😅 I am such a nerd, but I can't help my gift of gab. It is why I am a writer and planing something cool you will see in the later post here. Just trying to help and not be a bother with my thesis sized post 😊
Hello all,
I do hope that everyone is having a good weekend, must say for one of my fandoms last weekend was terrible. The MMA legend and also a hero to anyone from the 1990s Jason David Frank passed away, the Green Mighty Morphin Power Ranger and many more rangers later on tragically left this world. Second ranger to ever pass to my knowledge after oh I don't want to misspell her name but forgive me if I do I speak two languages, American English and some Scottish (proud to have Caledonian blood, connects me to many of my heroes. But I am off tangent) so my Chinese is basic Thuy Chang (please let that be right! Miss you too Trini I think Boom Studios has kept your spirit alive well.)
Anyway back on topic, for years Tommy Oliver has been one of my favorite characters in a franchise I literally saw the day I entered school (1993 parent teacher initiation, meeting my first teacher Mrs. Stuart, debut episode plays just before leaving to go to meet her, I was hooked) my favorite color has always been blue but oddly the character of Billy was my #3 in favorite Rangers after Jason the red ranger at #2 and in front of Zack (and I will never forget meeting him at Cape Comiccon 2019 these people were the exception to the rule of "Never meet your heros" save one who I have and may never meet from the team due to troubles. But Tommy I was as a kid wowed by his costume and the Dragonzord.
My dad even went through the trouble of painting my first bike that I ever road by myself without training wheels Green and gold. Sad to think I will never know Jason David Frank as a friend or meet him, Walter Jones was as close to him I may get unless I meet Amy Jo Johnson. But I plan to honor his memory in some creations I am working on.
I am building a toy company, soon to start a Patreon to not just build it, but to bounce ideas around get feedback, show my methods of designing and even sculpting prototypes. This was inspired by a great Youtuber The Crafsman of Steady Crafting, and gave genesis to Dash Terrier Creations my company name, I may never be Hasbro or Mattel (I rather not be on Mattel's level after they ruined a icon Sodor is a place of real trains! Not stretchy bouncy blobs on wheels!) But it is my calling like A.C. Gilbert, the man who saved Christmas ( great movie) so I want to incorporate the body armor type the Green Ranger wore into the City Gaurdsmen of one kingdoms in the first series. The armor wasn't too uncommon in fictional armor as toys as far back as the 70s had them in the Action Man line with Captain Zargon having one.
But before I start designing anything I want to know if this kind of armor has a proper name, what they would typically consist of (Such as pauldons, chest plate, that sort of thing) I am very amateur at describing armor in words and as I also plan to write a comic tie in well it is always best to script a scene in detail.
So with out further jabbering from me, here are some photos of the armor, if anyone can help me label the parts and historical (if there are any this is from a fictional series.)
Yeah I ant to know is any armor was made like the Dragon shield from Power Rangers. I hope I haven't been too much of a bother with the sheer size of my first post. Thank you all for having me and hope we have some interesting discussions about Armor, Swords and many other bladed melee blades.
