Hi, I am humoring the idea of creating a fantasy/apocalypse/tacticool cavalry sword, and I need recommendations for a saber guard. I'm looking for something in the style of a single knuckle bow. Googling saber guards gives me nothing but lightsaber gear Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you very much! I should have been clearer: I am looking for a vendor who's selling parts

Ah, understand. But sorry, I'm not aware of a vendor or store selling saber guards.

I just saw that Dixiegunworks has a 3 bar civil war style. Probably low end. They sell a blade, too. Again, coin flip on quality.
Really hate the lightsaber search results, too!
Be well Gorr

Hi, I am humoring the idea of creating a fantasy/apocalypse/tacticool cavalry sword, and I need recommendations for a saber guard. I'm looking for something in the style of a single knuckle bow. Googling saber guards gives me nothing but lightsaber gear ;-| Any help would be appreciated! Look up Kult of Athena, the on-line distributor out of Illinois. They carry Universal Swords, a manufacturer who makes an extensive variety of historical sabers. These can be fairly easily disassembled. Many people don't like them because the blades tend to be heavy, but I have found the blades' temper to be good, and the hilt furniture solid. US' version of the French Grenadiers Briquet is a good starting point: www.kultofathena.com/product/napoleonic-french-grenadiers-briquet/ and from there all the way up to baroque monstrosities like: www.kultofathena.com/product/french-royal-heavy-cavalry-sword/ The last sword is currently $250. Here's to creating fantasy sabers! That's what brought me to sbg to begin with. Mine's not tacticool, but it sure is a brutal infighter: Have at it and good luck!
