I'll be posting (on Halloween, of course) a video "carving" a pumpkin with a sword. Who else wants to join in the fun? Doesn't need to be videos - feel free to take pictures or just describe the carnage.

Haha, the Great Pumpkin Slaughter has become an annual Thanksgiving tradition for my relatives. Almost everyone swings one or two of my pieces each year. My cousin's kids are old enough now to swing the lighter ones as well, under proper, super quadruple vision of course.

I had planned to participate and went to the market this morning. Ticos don’t celebrate Halloween but I know of one market that caters to Americans and can count on some being there for about 2-3 weeks in October. They had six of about a 12” diameter. All were fine specimens, perhaps arguably a tad smallish, but more attractive than in previous years. The cheapest was 23.37 USD + cab fare home. I passed. There was a gorgeous one, too much so as to whack to pieces. It looked like something a farmer would proudly carry to the county fair. That one was $79. Needless to say that I left that one also.

Wow, that's pricey. I paid $4 for mine. I've got the video all edited together and uploading to YouTube, but it'll release on Halloween (as appropriate).

Ah, but these are imported, they let me know in no uncertain terms. 😁 Pumpkins are not grown here, and Costa Rica has two prices, one for Americans and the other for ticos.
