So about a 1-2 months ago I decided to join the herd and commit to the 16mo waiting list for a new Albion (Ringeck). But I am still not 100% sold on my decision for the grip. Since an email to modify this order wont loose my placing, I was hoping to get some opinions on the matter.
My current order is just for a wasted grip in light brown. I do like the look of a wire wrap, but I just don't see any pictures out there of grip options for the Ringeck. Likewise, I am not even sure how the light brown will actually look (mental limitation to envision colors). So does an anyone have any opinions or pictures?

Go for cord wrapped handle No, but I'm actually serious. It's the most comfy and practical option.

I have a 2nd Albion Knight 2022 Edition (I call it that because it was completed this year) that I specified Oxblood grip but they sent me brown/light brown grip.
It could be a sloppy one off but the light brown looked really bad, like viewing into toilet bowl bad. It was spotty, inconsistent and shade was unappealing, not rich at all. Promptly returned it for the Oxblood grip I wanted, I'm never ordering brown grip from Albion as of 2022.

About a year ago, I placed an order for a Ringeck with the waisted grip in Oxblood. At the current speed, I should see it April/May next year. Same order includes a Landgraf in Green.

If you handle your swords a lot, I wouldn't order oxblood or anything antiqued. I handle most of my swords at least every week for at least 30 minutes and all of them darken considerably. My RA 1.33 came with a red handle and is now oxblood. Lol.

Kult of Athena has some great pictures of the Ringeck with black + half-wire grip:
I liked this so much I changed my Fiore order to this combo :)

Dear Arthur Dayne, I have a 2nd Albion Knight 2022 Edition (I call it that because it was completed this year) that I specified Oxblood grip but they sent me brown/light brown grip. This sounds like you got their campaign-grip treatment, which is supposed to look faded and worn and is deliberately mottled. That doesn't excuse the error. Certainly you should have gotten what you ordered, and the campaign style doesn't appeal to everyone--I also am not a fan. But the appearance may have been deliberate, if meant for somebody else's sword. Best, Mark Millman
