Wow! Lovely first set of pictures. It's so much more lovely in these, although I am sure pictures do it no justice at all. One has to wonder with those falchions how they managed to get those cross sections so dang thin. I know Purna tried his best, but I would balk too at the task. It must be like sky diving or something, where once you take the plunge you're unafraid, or so I am told.
Looking forward to what I anticipate will be a typically extensive review from you. Golly that's a fancy falchion.

I am excited. I think he tried his best to meet the spec on something he had never tried before. With that being said, I would have liked to see a better fit and finish on it. These are my observations right off the bat, 4k cameras don't lie, lol. The fit and finish can be improved later, and I suppose some enterprising person could keep shaving weight off the widest section of the blade and neurotically check with calipers. All I know for sure is that's a mighty looking sword. It definitely warrants a lion's head.

I have found very few makers that will make a falchion blade as thin as it should be. Apparently, it is very tricky to get a good heat treat without warping the blade.
Albion makes them, but they only have the one model (two if you count the smaller messer). Gus Trim makes them, but I get the impression he’s not really accepting commissions anymore. Lyn Driggers makes them, but likewise, he’s not taking commissions.
I have a falchion from Purna on the way (second hand), but I suspect its blade, like most, will be far to thick. We shall see.
Regardless, this is one good looking sword!

Purna really out did himself on this one, that carving is so beautiful. Your designs are some of the best Ive seen too. I'm so jealous you have an armoury custom designed by you just sitting in your house haha. I have one custom sword I designed and I already wanna be buried with it

I'm more than willing to wait a couple of decades before being buried with my favorite sword.

Lol Hey, not all of us are such procrastinators. Gotta get busy living, or get busy dying, as Andy Dufresne would say

I'm in the September/October schedule for my first commissioned custom sword, so I'm extremely fine with procrastinating on the whole dying thing.
