I am just so impressed by the level of authenticity here relative to historical specimens. This has a beautiful balance between fantasy and history. I also really dig the blue color and gold pommel. It looks like the most luxurious falchion I've ever seen.

Awestruck! Brother Nathaniel's new design of a fantasy falchion that I can see combining features of the Conyers falchion and the Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte falchion. The stats are almost identical to that of the Conyers'. 1301 grams, with a 28.8" blade and 35" overall. Base thickness is 6.5mm and the width is 38.1mm, the broadest part of the blade is whopping 107mm wide and 3mm thick. Brother Nathaniel was planning to have it at 2mm thickness, but apparently the execution didn't manage it. As a reference, Conyers falchion is said to be 1.2mm thin at the broadest part.

The wheel pommel is gold-plated carved brass with the visage of a lion's head, from the side you can see its tapered geometry. I love the grooves carved onto the side of the wheel as well. The crossguard is properly tapered with octagonal cross section, and the end of the each quillon is decorated with a cross. Nice touch there! The opening of the guard for the blade to sit in is watertight! A monster of a falchion. I can't wait to test this on some historically accurate targets!
