Ok so this particular journey began with me reading a review on here about jkoo and decided I’d give them a try…so I looked and looked for a couple of weeks and came across This Wakizashi on their website I ordered and it came surprisingly fast about a week tops from china to Australia ..
it arrived in a plain cardboard box supported by some foam shaped u pillars was wrapped in what would have to be the worst sword bag I ever received looked like it was a leg of a pair of tracksuit pants quickly sowed together I’ll give it this it’s defiantly 109% home made..
however sliding the wakazashi out of the blade revealed a navy blue real silk tsuka ito copper koshirae and a gloss white saya with a partial rayskin wrap..already I could tell this wasn’t like any other of my swords(yet at this stage)
It had good weight no saya rattle .removing the saya revealed the gem 💎 hidden in the rough sword bag.. the blade hazuya polished distinctive lamination lines and hamon to boot…has a unique look to it defiantly different from my t10 and folded swords .this sword had folding on the sides however it was so fine and subtle it was like it wasn’t there I Almost..
The Hamon cut up and down thru the lamination lines leavening unique lines and shapes the colour of the different steels highlighted by the polish,,,
The sword is solid no bohi yet still is light enough for me to whip around doing kata and still getting that distinct szwush sound ….the Steele not easily scratches wiped down and fresh oil doesn’t effect the polish or scratch the surface like other swords I’d handled…
I really really like this sword still now it’s probably a month or a bit more in each afternoon I go to we’re I’ve displayed it for a look and each day I’m discovering more hidden hada more lines there really is a lot packed in there ..
This is my favourite sword so far I don’t have a whole lot of fancy swords
To compare too I do have two other laminated swords a couple of folded&temoered and some t10 tempered and this is my favourite so far
I’ll link some pictures here ibb.co/album/rxpgZW
and I’ll add more to the review later
