Gave it two coats of lacquer both sides as well as the top and the bottom. First time lacquering a tsuka, so any tips would be appreciated! Attachments:

Looks fine! I make sure to brush the undersides of the folds & diamonds, and then squeeze the entire tsuka pretty hard (wearing vinyl gloves) to help work the lacquer into the fibers. More than two coats and the ito will start to feel plastic-y; it won't absorb sweat and the grip will be less sure, sorta negating the point of having it.

good thing i only gave it two. Next thing i plan on doing is hybrid polishing the blade: this doesnt mess with geometry, right?
