They look like they've made some improvements. I like that they seem to have gotten rid of the diamond tip. Two-piece pommels are great for the price. Wish they could bring the weight down, 3.5lbs is at the very top of known weights, and the example I'm thinking of had a 33in blade. If they made the fuller wider, they could improve that visual aspect and the weight in one go.

I think there was a person on this forum from Deepeeka looking for advice on how to improve their products. They are definitely upping their game and their stuff looks much better. However, the persistent lack of distal taper keeps the blades overweight and awkward in the hand.
I really think they could make a lot of new customers with that one little change.

I would be interested in getting one for viking reenactment combat. Thank you for posting this. Did you get it off KoA? Or did you go somewhere else? My concern is if KoA sends me some old stock ones that don't have any updates.

Just got mine from KoA....standard grade with the factory edge. Not sure how hard KoA inspects....the blade on this one was twisted about 2/3 the way up, soooo ripply, and the edge was super wavy (not just variations in thickness, but up and down perpendicular to the blade face). Submitted a ticket to KoA calling it defective. KoA said they'd send a return label for refund. They said it was "typical for this manufacturer". Honestly, the rest of the sword was fine and certainly within what I expected from a cheap sword, the blade was just a major disappointment. May still decide to keep it to mess around with it as a project sword.

Most fullers were not as wide as people think on viking blades, generally not more than 42% of the width of the base. And not more than 25 mm. Of course, there are exceptions that go up to 28, 30, or 33 mm, but they are fairly unusual.
1587 grams is on the higher end but not unreasonable for this type of sword. They could easily go up to 1800 g and there's one outlier I know of that is in the 2300 range or so.
