Very creative, saya is beautiful. Tsuba seems to bite into the hand, maybe file the edges into a less sharp shape.

Very creative, saya is beautiful. Tsuba seems to bite into the hand, maybe file the edges into a less sharp shape. The edges of the tsuba ae beveled. It just doesn't show up in the pic. I gave that sword to my son otherwise I'd take some more detailed shots. He lives a bit over an hour away so I don't have the sword handy. He sent me that pic after someone expressed curiosity about it on the other board so I could put a pic up. The picture with the blue lighting on the blade (I haven't been able to duplicate that effect. There were no colored lights involved) is about a year old. One of the cheesy zinc alloy pot metal tsubas that came with the kit is on it in that picture. But there's no sharp edges on the diamond plate except the corners I guess. I told my son to feel free to ad lib. He likes doin this stuff to. I just gave it to him cuz he's my son. No birthday or special occasion. I've since bought a complete daisho. Neither the katsana or wakizashi really need any customization minus I do believe I'll change the tsuba on the kat. The one that's on it is not bad. At least it's real iron not pot metal. Dont know if I'll make or buy just yet. Probably buy since my current living situation is less than Ideal for my crafting hobbies. Plus I'm recovering from an amputation caused by an old trauma. But I get casted for my first prosthesis next week so I'll have two feet back under me soon. Can't wait. I haven't done any real testing on these new blades yet. Kinda hard to do without a foot. But the good news is the permanent second prosthetic the gal I'm working with is gonna make me will have a pressure sensing hydraulic ankle It will be better than my real leg after the accident ever was. Looking forward to getting my swords out to play. Oh, and my son said he cut a few watermelons with that Musashi blade and the halves didn't separate. So my sharpening job was good. Reminds me of that candle cutting scen in one of the old Zorro flicks. Facing off with the Spanish governor who sliced a candle off and the cut half went flying. Zorro makes a slash and the candle didn't move. So the bad guy laughs until Zorro pushed the candle apart with the tip of his sword.
