The sword should be good. It looks like a Windlass. Short swords tend to be very durable with few issues.
I have a lot of experience with making and buying armor. What is your intended use of this armor? Display? Halloween party? Do you plan to fight in this armor? It is often enough hard to find cloths that fit right. Finding armor that fits you right off the shelf is much harder. Make sure the armor is returnable for full refund if it does not fit you!!!
The armor looks like if may be a little tight around the shoulders. You need to be able to almost bring you elbows together if you want to fight in this. You should also be able to raise you arms almost completely vertical.
The helmet should be at least 14 gage if you plan to let people swing at your head. It looks more like 18 gage. You can still do some light stuff with your friend in your backyard. Don't use any weapons that are thinner then the eye holes. I think you might be able to get away with rattan swords if the gage is thick enough (I doubt it). Make sure the helmet is large enough so you can pad the inside with cell-foam.
Welcome to the forum Chrisp.

It is a windlass, I was simply looking for a nice greek sword and saw an article here on sword buyers guide - so guess I will buy the sword. Concerning the amourr, I would like to wear it, though I don't want to have anyone hammering my amour with at sword, it would nice if it was wearable - hmm - guess I have to find a store closer to my home - see I'm from Europe - so it's quite expencive to return anything across the atlantic. What kind of amour do you make? In fact, the leather breast-piece of amour, wich the sword is shown with - would be a nice starter amour - have any experience on leather amour? And thanks - looking forward to all the experience I'm gonne sniff here

Here is a link to two threads where I discus my armor.
This one I made entirely myself except for the elbow and knee joints which I bought cheap.

This style of armor is later period. It uses a gambeson as an arming coat and the shoulder and arms attach to arming points. I made the coat of plates that goes over the gambeson. It is not hard to make. I used suede lather and riveted plates to that. You can use any material for the plates that is available to you.

That appears to be the Windlass Hoplite sword. I have one that I recently acquired. I have not had time to do any cutting with it, but it looks like a solid, well made piece of equipment. It is slightly blade heavy for my taste, but it feels good in the hand. The scabbard is pretty (and also pretty loose.) As always I would do a little price shopping before purchasing. www.kultofathena.com/product~item~500734~name~Classic+Hoplite+Sword.htm

The SCA has groups in Europe. In addition to other ancient weapons groups. I would recommend contacting them about what local armourers they go to for their gear. Hell, you might find you've spent a few hundred (or more) dollars on your armour and want to use it. Then you'll already have the contacts for doing that safely...
