I’ve got a gun cabinet and lean my swords point down with handle in rifle rest. Is that going to hurt the sword over time?

are these sword actually sharp or dull like a factory Deepeeka tip? A sharp tip is very thin and easily damaged. You might be best served by using the tip guards that are often found on swords packed for shipping.

then they are more likely to be OK on point, but tip guards won't hurt if you have them.

I’ve found that a piece of low-pile carpet cut to match the floor of the cabinet works well. It is cheap, keeps the swords from sliding around, and gives a bit of cushion for the sword tips.
As with tip guards, be sure moisture isn’t collecting down there! I keep mine climate controlled and oiled, and haven’t had any issues. Still, maybe check the tips on a regular basis, just to be sure.
