If I planned to store my armour and rotella for up to a year without maintenance, what way would be best to do it? What if the place I stored them had inconsistent climate?
I'm curious because I was originally planning to just slather it all in petroleum jelly and wrap it in plastic wrap, but I'm worried if rapid changes in humidity and temperature could cause condensation to build up under the plastic.
Would something like cotton, canvas or whatever be better? Or maybe just an old gym bag? With or without a humidity controlling item?

Wrap it tight enough where there is no gap with ren wax and it should be fine, then put that inside a gym bag, then put it out of reach the sunlight and should be fine

Get a big plastic tote.
Do what you were gonna do, but store it in the tote with a bunch of desiccant.
I have a friend that did that with his suit of plate, just sprayed it with oil, dumped it in the tote, put a bucket of litter in with it, and it was fine a year later.

Thanks guys, should I do the same thing with my rotella? I. Considered wrapping it all together along with a spearhead and sword, to sorta make an armour and weapon set. "break in case of medieval zombies" sorta deal, just until I can properly display it

I've seen a lot of good advice already posted, but have you considered relocating it to a desert and walling it up in a stone pyramid?
Edit: A nice anaerobic peat bog is also a good option.

A desert sounds like a terrible place to be, for a snowman like myself. Peat bogs on the other hand, I like the sounds of that. Could tan me some leather while I'm there 😎 |
