Nice Job! I liked the comparison part; seeing you moving them around was super cool. The blades look great on both. I wonder if the Albion-style satin-finish is actually what the majority of these historical pieces had, though. It always looks visually pleasing either way, but in period art depictions of armor, there is undoubtedly evidence of mirror polishing. For example, would a wealthy knight not want to take the polish to a higher level? An interesting discussion could be had regarding the museum line or any other replica, and The Tod Writhen is another one. I watched Matt Easton discuss this a little bit when he was reviewing a sword, It might have been the Darksword Squire but I am not sure. He basically felt that a well to do knight or above would in fact in many cases make the blade a mirror shine as a way of projecting their status.

I recall watching a video about how higher status Medieval swords were probably mirror polished to show off your wealth because of the extra work it required, but these days mirror polish is more associated with cheap wallhangers and stainless steel, so satin polish has become associated with quality. I can't say I disagree with that assertion. I'm guessing it was the same video fester mentioned.

Awesome ! I recall reading somewhere that mirror polishing had the side advantage of better rust prevention and sharpness. 🤔
