MC#26 arrived today. I started to unpack the items, but decided to save some for when I get home from work tomorrow. What I have found so far -
(this should be a good test project for unleashing the wonderfully balanced scimitar hiding under all of that extra steel)
(sharpened, probably a returned item since I haven't seen an obvious flaw)
(will be a nice looking piece once cleaned up)
Undetermined hand-and-a-half sword with tip broken by about ½” (I'll post pictures tomorrow). Needs a little work to re-shape a tip, but it does have a scabbard already.
So far - 4 swords

I'm in the process of repairing the bone grip seax now. I am attaching shims to the tang to eliminate the guard rattle. The grip is two pieces of horn glued together, so 2/3 of the grip is air. I will be adding some type of filler to the horn (epoxy putty is a likely component of my mad science). Then I will need to add a plug to the pommel end of the horn grip so I can curve it to mate up perfectly to the pommel cap.
still trying to decide how badly the sheath bugs me. The braids were well done (unlike the bone grip seax I bought out of the classified here), but it was made to fit with the edge down. Always thought the standard for a Viking seax was edge up.
