I am interested in adding a a 2 handed han jian to my collection later this or early next year (depends on the cost and how long it will take to save the funds).
Which worthwile options are out there for a good battle ready 2 handed han jian? The jin shi blades I found out looked promising but that company is out of business for many years now.
Would be pleased hearing a few recommendations about good 2 handed jian.

I have the LK Chen Striking Eagle and love it. The Roaring Dragon looks great too.

As another option to consider, the Hanwei/Rodell Cutting Jian is a good quality functional jian with a two-hand grip, though I think it is primarily intended to be used one-handed.
It’s a pretty nice sword either way.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys pgandy Yes, I have heard about LK Chen already. Their sword is also reviewed well by my favorite YouTuber skalagrim and schola gladiatorial. The Lk swords are worth a look for sure. mrbadexample The Striking Eagle and the Roaring Dragon looks good indeed. pellius The Rodell Cutting Jian is also on my to-buy list for quite some time. A beautiful-looking sword. But isn't that sword rather a qing or ming dynasty style. Jian? In long term I want own a Jian from both areas one qing/ming style Jian and a earlier Han Jian.

The LK Chen Roaring Dragon and Striking Eagle are both Chu (Warring States). I don't think they make a Han 2-hander (though the Han 1 handers they make are quite long and have plenty of room on the handle).

Thanks for the info. I have already guessed that the Roaring Dragon and the Striking Eagle are from a earlier period. Thanks for confirming that fact.
The Han dynasty one hander like the White ark looks also quite nice I have to see. In general I am more interested in true 2 hander of the Han area though if anybody is out there that makes one.

With one exception, the 2nd King of the independent State of Nanyue, currently part of Vietnam and Southern China, contemporary with the Han Dynasty, have a collection of 10 double handed swords and buried with him.
The longest double handed sword in China was discovered in his tomb total length 146 cm.
These NanYue swords were in Warring State Chu Style, since NanYue was founded by a Qin general send to pacified the south so the crafts of northern China during warring state was brought to southern China.
These long double handed sword were fitted with Jade and likely for collection of a sword loving King.
Striking Eagle is model after the longest double hand sword find in the tomb.

The Han-style Flying Phoenix Jian is still probably LK Chen's masterpiece design, but nothing beats the Striking Eagle in terms of pure coolness factor.

I have to agree. both are really nice the Flying Phonix and the Striking Eagle but the Striking Eagle really is the coolest. I also think that Striking Eagle is exactly what I am looking for A really long and nice looking Jian.

Sharp blades are good to have, if Shire-folk go walking, east, south, far away into dark and danger.

Does that one have the old "perfectly round" handle seen on so many Han reproductions?

Here's a good one. A true two hander with 100 cm length blade and 145 cm overall length. www.ebay.com/itm/334014972862
