It also comes in sharpened or tempered form too. Seems to be an attempt to replicate the windlass classic hoplite sword which is now mostly backorder or no longer sold for some reason? I just heard from an Australian website that supplies some of their swords (They are titled 'Xiphos') that it is EN45 steel and they have a cutting test video? (Skip to 0:39 to go straight to cutting part): Thoughts? Source: www.strongblade.com/prod/sba-phalanx-blade.htmlmedievalshoppe.com.au/xiphos-ancient-greek-sword/

Sharp blades are good to have, if Shire-folk go walking, east, south, far away into dark and danger.

If don't get my Celtic soon (and it doesn't look promising) I'll bite and get one of these! I mean, $130 sharp and shipped? If it's full tang and tempered, it's a deal.
