Hello Everyone,
I recently acquired what looks to be a Austrian model 1904 Cavalry Officer's sabre and I am trying to learn as much as I can about it. However, information on this sword is woefully scant on the internet and books on the subject are rare and expensive. Does anyone know of or have any resources on this model of sword? Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Thank you. I enjoyed reading your write up. It looks like we have very similar sabres. The design on the guard is identical and the rest of the hilt as well. Mine also has a pipeback blade, but with a substantially less pronounced almost non existent false edge. I will definitely post some info if I find it!

Also do you measurements for your sabre? I would be interested to compare to mine as mine seems on the shorter side with the blade being only 29.5 inches.

I’ll dig it out of the locker later this evening and give it a look
