The new type B from Purna arrived yesterday!
First, an important point:
Anyway, the new sword is slightly heavier. I'm not sure why, exactly, but it doesn't really matter to me. The balance is also a bit further down the blade. Again, this isn't too bad, and might be reasonable for one of these early viking/pre-viking sword blades. The guard and pommel are actually even more in line with my measurements than the first version.
Also, this second sword was sent in a protective box, so that DHL and/or customs would be less likely to bend it.

Looks like a mean chopper.
You commissioned this from Purna? Was it worth it? Do you like it? I've never commissioned a blade before. Too broke most of the time to even consider it.

Yeah, Purna has made several, and he does a really good job (he's also NORMALLY really fast, like, you might get your custom from him faster than you could get a mass produced blade from KoA). I would say it is worth it. The only caveat is that since he's not an expert in European swords, you have to be VERY precise in what you ask him for and give him lots of info and designs, you can't expect him to just know what, say, a 15th century German longsword will look like beyond the basics!
His prices are not really much different for a custom than a low-end Albion. The viking swords I get are usually in the $500 range.

A true custom sword for 500 bucks is quite the deal, especially for such a nice one.
